PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Cambodia exported 177,929 tons of rice in the first six months of 2014, up 1 percent from 175,959 exported over the same period last year, according to data from the Secretariat of One Window Service of Rice Export Formality.
The data said nine kinds of rice were exported to 54 countries. Jasmine rice was exported the most, accounting for 66,341 tons.
Cambodia exported most of its rice to Poland with 33,605 tons, and was followed by France with 33,517 tons, Netherland with 17,381 tons, Malaysia with 16,693 tons, and Belgium with 9,594 tons.
In June 2014, Cambodia exported 29,666 tons of rice, up about 2 percent from about 29,105 tons of rice exported in June 2013.
The data showed that Cambodia exported 12,613 tons of rice in 2009, 105,259 tons in 2010, 201,899 tons in 2011, 205,717 tons in 2012, and 378,856 tons in 2013.
