PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Plans for a joint venture airline involving Cambodia's Royal Group and San Miguel Corp of the Philippines are likely to be abandoned entirely, an industry source said Saturday.
Citing a report by the Australian-based Centre for Aviation, Swiss consultancy ch aviation said Cambodia Airlines "will not likely launch."
In a posting on its website, the Swiss firm noted that PAL Express in Manila was reported earlier this year to be planning to "get things moving" by transferring several aircraft to Cambodia Airlines.
"As of this posting, none of the Filipino carrier's aircraft have yet been tracked on the Cambodian registry," it said.
