PHNOM PENH, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Business executives from Cambodian and China's Sichuan province met here on Monday to explore opportunities in automobiles, motorcycles and machinery, both sides said.
The meeting was made between representatives of 8 automobile and machinery companies from Sichuan and about 16 Cambodian business people from vehicles and machinery-related businesses.
"The forum aims to further strengthen economic and trade relations between Cambodia and China and to set up a bridge between China Council for the Promotion of International Trade ( CCPIT) Sichuan Council and Cambodian enterprises," Chheav Pha, chief of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce's marketing development department, said during the meeting.
He said the forum was a good opportunity for Cambodian and Chinese business people to seek business partners for long-term cooperation.
"Cambodia treats investors equally--either domestic or foreign investors can own 100 percent in their businesses," he said.
Speaking at the event, Xie Min, deputy director of trade information office at the CCPIT Sichuan Council, said it was the first time the delegation visited Cambodia to further promote economic and trade ties between China and Cambodia.
"Cambodia and Sichuan province have plenty of room to grow in trade and investment relations," she said. "I hope that the visit will produce fruitful results for future cooperation in automobile and machinery businesses."
